School-based Immunisations - 7th May, 2024

Immunisation forms were given out/sent home some weeks ago. If you haven’t yet returned your child’s form, you can still do so. The office is open over the school holidays between 9am and 3pm today and tomorrow (18th & 19th April), and next week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (22nd, 23rd & 24th April).

Routine school-based adolescent vaccinations are given to students in Year 7 and Year 10. These include:

  • diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine - one dose (Year 7)
  • human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV) - one dose* (Year 7)
*people with severely immunocompromising conditions require a 3-dose schedule.
  • meningococcal ACWY - one dose (Year 10)

For more information about Gardasil® 9 please refer to the HPV vaccine fact sheet outlining changes under the National Immunisation Program in 2023 from the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
