From the Principal - Term 1 Week 6
We are thrilled to report a lively and successful start to the school year at Huonville High School. Our first assembly, held earlier today, set an enthusiastic tone for the term ahead.
One of the highlights was a unique 'fashion parade' of sorts, where our dedicated staff members showcased the school uniform in a fun and engaging manner. This initiative aimed to emphasise the importance of high expectations, instilling pride, fostering a sense of belonging, and encouraging students to always put their best foot forward. By relating these values to the world of work, we hope to inspire our students to excel both academically and professionally.
Continuing with our theme of high expectations, we are pleased to congratulate our students from Years 7 and 9 for their outstanding performance in the recent NAPLAN testing. Thank you to other year groups for their positive behaviours to support Years 7 and 9 to do their best in each test.
We extend a heartfelt thank you and congratulations to our Year 11/12 Hospitality class for their exceptional initiative in running the school canteen last Tuesday when staff availability was limited. Their professionalism and commitment are commendable and exemplify the themes of kindness and collaboration we strive to instil in all our students.
As we progress into the term, we want to stress the importance of regular attendance. Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success and ensures that students fully benefit from the learning opportunities provided. We urge all parents to prioritise their child's attendance and ensure they come to school every day, ready to engage and learn.
Lastly, we extend a warm invitation to all new parents to join us for our upcoming School Association meeting on Thursday, 11th April, 5:30-6:30pm in the staff room. Your involvement and support are invaluable to us, and we look forward to welcoming you into our school community.
Thank you for your continued support as we continue this exciting journey together.
Kindly,
